History

Eliza Fitzgerald was born in 1841, and arrived in Australia in 1852. She was a ten year old who was imprisoned in 1861/1862 for one month hard labour at Her Majesty's Gaol Ballarat for horse stealing ducks. She was four feet tall, slight build, sallow complexion, blue eyes and brown hair, and could not read or write.[1]
