History

William Figgis was an Associate of the Ballarat School of Mines.

LIEUTENANT FIGGIS. Word was received in Ballarat yesterday,that Lt Figgis, son of Mr S E Figgis, formerly of Ballarat had been killed. Lt Figgis was an old student of the School of Mines. He enlisted in an English corps and subsequently received a com mission in the Bedford regiment.[1]

In 1909 he was working at Black Range Mine, Sandstone, Western Australia.

Legacy

William E. Figgis' name is listed in the Ballarat School of Mines Honor Roll.[2]
