History

William Macara was born 19 March 1828 in Edinburgh (Scotland) to George Macara and Cecilia nee Sinton.


William Macara was a fitter and turner. He worked at the Phoenix Foundry from at least 1875 to 1881.


William Macara died 8 August 1909 in his home at 308 Doveton Street South, Ballarat (Victoria, Australia). He is buried in the Ballaarat Old Cemetery (Area CCN, Section 15, Grave 5).
