Notes

  • It is as well that proprietors of skittle alleys should know that they must close up at half-past eleven o'clock on every Saturday night. Failing in this respect, John Keane, landlord of the Alabama Hotel, was this morning fined 10s., and 12s. 6d. costs, notwithstanding that a plea of ignorance of the regulations was put forward.[2]
