History

Barry Singleton was born in Ballarat in October 1938.[1] His initial training was at the Ballarat Technical Art School (Ballarat School of Mines) and R.M.I.T., Diploma of Sculpture, 1954-59. He has lectured on ceramic art in Australia, Japan, China.[2]

In 1970 he established a studio at Castlemaine, from which he draws much of his inspiration.[3]

Legacy

He is represented in the Bendigo, Castlemaine, Shepparton and Sale Art Galleries, the Victorian Ceramics Group Collection Myer Bicentennial Collection, and private collections in Australia and overseas.[4]
