The Belfast Hotel was a hotel in Ballarat East, Victoria, <1862.

Background

The hotel had previously been known as the Shakespeare Hotel.[1]

History

The hotel was destroyed by a large fire on 26 November 1862, which also destroyed 30 other buildings.[2] The hotel was described as being in the old Bank of Australasia building.[2]

Site

The hotel was in Main Road[2], two doors from the north east corner of Eureka Street.[1]
