The Bute Hotel was a hotel in Ballarat East, Victoria, <1866-1891.

Background

It was one of the 40 hotels closed in 1891 in Ballarat East as part of the changes to licensing laws.[1],

History

The owners were paid £1064 compensation for the closure of the business.[1]

Site

The Bute Hotel was on the north west corner of Scott's Parade and Peel Street North.[2] This is now 203 Peel Street North and has a residential property.
