  • In October 1906 This well-known hotel, on the corner of Sturt and Albert streets, which has just been taken over by Mr Tom Carlyon, has lately undergone a complete re-modelling. renovating, and refurnishing throughout[8]
  • In September 1920 In the city court on Tuesday, Maud Evelyn Church licensee of Carlyon's Hotel; Sturt-street was fined £5 on a charge of having had her bar door unlocked during prohibited hours and £2 for having failed to enter in the lodgers' book the names of persons staying at the hotel on the night of 4tlh inst[9]
  • In January 1921 In the city court on Tuesday Maud Church licensee of Carlyon's Hotel, Sturt street, was fined . £5 on a charge of having her bar door open during prohibited hours[10]
