The Cumberland Inn was built by Faulder Watson in 1854 (the Faulder Watson Hall is situated across the road on Barker Street). [1]

In June 1860, Faultier Watson of the Cumberland Inn, Barker-street was granted a licence, the Bench said the house was well-kept, and there was no complaint. [2]
