Edmund J. Delaney served with the A.I.F. during World War One.

History

Edmund John Delaney was a traveller before he joined the AIF as a member of the 1st and later 2nd Tunnellers Company. At the time of his enlistment he was a widower living in a hotel in Armstrong Street, Ballarat. He returned to Australia due to Myocarditis or inflammatory cardiomyopathy, and inflammation of heart muscle. Edmund Delaney died in 1936, aged 62, and was buried in the Ballaarat New Cemetery on 23 January 1936.

Legacy

Honoured on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour for his World War One service.
