History

Isaac Sampson was born in 1827 at Manchester, England within the Jewish faith. He arrived in Australia in 1852 on board the Lady Mead. He was a dancing instructor who was imprisoned for three days for vagrancy in 1861/1862 at Her Majesty's Gaol Ballarat. He was five feet five inches tall, stout with a fresh complexion, blue eyes and and dark hair.[1]
