James McKay and Sons Pty Ltd produced McK's Self Raising Flour, Tomato Sauce, Jelly Crystals, Sweet Mustard Pickles, Curry Powder, Worcestershire Sauce and Mustard Sauce. [1]

History

James McKay arrived from Northern Ireland in 1865 and shortly after opened up a retail grocery business in Sebastopol. [2] He soon moved his business to Grant Street Ballarat, and later opened at the corner of and later opened at the corner of Bridge Street and Peel Street, , and then the corner of Mair Street and Armstrong Street. [3]

The company was incorporated in 1905. [4]

James McKay and Sons Pty Ltd built a new warehouse on the corner of Mair Street and Armstrong Street in 1898.
