John Josiah Bone was a publican in Ballarat, Victoria, <1893.

History

John Bone was born about 1837 in Tavistock, Devon, the son of Thomas Bone and Rebecca Wungate.[1]

Bone married Bridget Hurley in Victoria in 1865.[2]


John died in Ballarat on 6 June 1893, where he was publican of the Commercial Hotel in Armstrong Street.[3][4]

The Friends of the late JOHN JOSIAH BONE are respectfully invited to follow his remains to their last resting place, Ballarat New Cemetery. The funeral will leave his late residence, Commercial Hotel, Armstrong street north, on Thursday, at 3 p.m.[5]

After his death his wife took over the licence until her death in 1898.
