Leslie J. Shannon served with the A.I.F. in World War One.

History

Shannon was wounded in 1917, which was reported in the Ballarat Star:

PRIVATE L. J. SHANNON. - Mr P. G. Shannon, of 115 Humffray street, has been notified that his son, Pte. L. J. Shannon, has been wounded, but the nature of his injury is not known. He was present at the evacuation of Gallipoli.[1]

Legacy

World War One service recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.
