After the Larter Street Clayhole, used by the Eureka Tile Works, was abandoned in 1973 Steinmann was instrumental in efforts to redevelop the quarry and surrounds as a lake and gardens. It was officially opened on 06 June 1988 with surrounding park is nine hectares.[1]
