Philip Gay was born 1861 in Victoria (Australia) to Philip Gay (c1829-1901) and Susan nee' McCandlish (?-1900).


Philip Gay was an apprentice at the Phoenix Foundry.


Philip Gay died 9 March 1941 in a private hospital in Melbourne (Victoria, Australia). He is buried in the New Cheltenham Cemetery (Sandringham).
