Etymology

History

Township on the Emu Creek, with post, telegraph and money order office, savings bank, two churches, State school, branch of bank, court-house, one hotel, police station, and two insurance agencies. Grazing land. Rail – 111 ½ miles. (Goods train service only). Population 363. Partly in Ripon Shire.[1]
