History

Adam Lindsay, his brother David Ronaldson, and Herbert Tippett established the Austral Engineering Works.

Adam Lindesay Ronaldson was born at Smeaton in 1859, the son of John Ronaldson. Adam was educated at Smeaton Primary School, and he joined the Victorian Mines department as an engineer in 1880. Before joining Ronaldson and Tippett he had considerable engineering experience in Victoria and overseas.[1]

Adam Lindesay died on 30 April 1937 at Ballarat. He was the great grandfather of MHR Michael Ronaldson.
