Obituary
- A PROMISING CAREER CLOSED - DEATH OF MR. ALBERT TUCK.
- Very great sorrow was felt all over Kyneton and Trentham on Tuesday when it was learned that Mr. Albert Tuck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tuck; of High street. Kyneton, and manager of Messrs. Trewhella Bros Sunnyside Foundry, Trentham, had died in the Kyneton Hospital at noon from typhoid fever. Mr. Tuck, who was only 28 years of age, was admitted to the hospital a fortnight, ago, and his case; was all along regarded as a very critical one, and in spite of the unremitting care he received, death ensued as stated. Mr. Tuck was of the stamp of young man which this community can't. afford to lose - He should have died later. Full of youth, energy and enterprise-and keen interest in his work, when only in the early twenties Messrs Trewhella Bros sent him on a mission to Europe and America to learn everything that could be learned of modern methods of foundry work. On his re turn, he acquired a partnership and has assisted in the management of the firm, his services being most highly valued by the proprietary. He was a member of the Hope of Forest Lodge. I.O.R. Trentham,. and of the newly formed Trentham Fire Brigade.
- He was a Kyneton State schoolboy and, was first employed at Messrs. Hoyle Bros. Kyneton coach factory, they parting with him with great regret when he joined Messrs. Trewhella Bros. The deepest of sympathy is felt for the bereaved relatives, who are thus suddenly deprived, in his early manhood, of one who gave every promise of being a successful, business man and a worthy citizen of the State; These include the grief-stricken parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Tuck of Kyneton; his fiancee;- Miss Bessie Trewhella, to whom, he was to have been married at Xmas, and his sisters and brothers.[1]
