Alfred G. Rooney

History

Alfred Rooney was norn at Ballarat East in August 1895, the son of James Rooney and Mary Anne Lydia Day. He enlisted for service during World War One at Ballarat on 15 October 1914. He won the military medal for bravery during battle on 09 August 1916. He died on is death Footscray on 18 February 1960.

Legacy

The World War One service of Alfred Rooney is recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.
