History

AUSTRALIAN WORKERS' UNION
The hall in Grenville-Street, Ballarat, which has been built by the Victoria Riverina branch of the Australian Workers' Union, was formally opened on Saturday night by Mr. Spence, M.H.R., general secretary of the A.W.U. Mr. Spence was presented with the silver key with which the main entrance was opened. Mr. Spence said that the A.W.U. was the largest union south of the line," having a membership of 30,000 and branches in each state. ... [1]
