Background
The Ballan War Memorial was originally erected to commemorate those from the district who served in World War One and was unveiled on the 27th March 1920. The names of those who died in service or were killed in action of World War Two were added to the memorial at a later date. It also honours those who served in World War Two, Korea, Malaya, Borneo and Vietnam.[1]
