Background

The former Ballarat Litho Company was located at 56 Lydiard Street (corner of Lydiard Street) in 1918.

The Ballarat Litho and Printing Co. was the successor to F. W. Niven & Co.

In 1904 an advertisement boasted 'Art Printers, Lithographers, bookbinders, cycle and motor transfer experts.'

Names associated with this firm in 1904 were W.H. Pearson, J. McCartney, J.A. Hoskin, T.A. Davey, A.E. Lilburne.
