Notes
- One of the finest and best defined dendrites yet obtained at the Ballarat School of Mines museum was received by Mr Hart, lecturer on geology, yesterday morning. It was obtained from the Black Horse Company’s mine, at a depth of 200 feet from the surface. The fossil impressions are in manganese and oxide of iron, the minerals having passed through the earth by a process of filtration.[2]
