In 1958 the Britannia Co Mullock was removed to fill Camp Street car spaces.
Site
The Britannia Gold Mining Company had a battery situated in Barkly Street, Ballarat, opposite the Uniting Church. The battery started operation in March 1887 and was very noisy.[1]

The People
In 1862 John Rowe started work at the Britannia Gold Mining Co. By 1867 John Rowe was general manager or 'captain'. A silver watch was presented to John Rowe by the mine in 1869, and he held the position as 'captain' for 14 years.[2]
In 1914 G. Barker was Manager of the Britannia Gold Mining Company.
