Broomfield is a small village in Victoria, Australia. It is 3km northeast of Creswick[1] on the road to Allendale.

Origin of the name

It is believed to be named after an early resident.[1]

History

Gold was found at Broomfield in 1872, and the area grew quickly during the 1880's when deep alluvial mining was taking place in the area. The village was also known as Wallacetown during the 1880s.[1]
