Cecil A. Brittain

History

Cecil Brittain was the son of John Brittain of the Ballarat Observatory. He enlisted during World War One and served with the 5th battalion in Egypt, Gallipoli and France. On 04 December 1917 he was severely wounded in an attack on the German trenches, and awarded the Military Medal for conspicuous bravery.[1]

Legacy

World War One service recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.


Cecil Arnold Brittain's name is listed in the Ballarat School of Mines Honor Roll.[2]
