History
Clifford Stanley Polkinghorne was the son of S. Polkinghorne of 145 Scott's Parade, Ballarat. He was a temporary teacher in 190-11 in charge of schools at Byrneville and Meering West. He enlisted on 05 October 1914, and embarked with the 2nd Reinforcements to the 8th Battalion. After joining his Battalion in Egypt he went with it to Gallipoli and fell at the landing. [1]
Legacy
World War One service recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.
