Cornelius Bowring

History

Known as Cornelius George Bowring, worked in the mines before enlisting 20 April 1915, aged 41 years, service number 2116. He was assigned to the 57th Battalion and left Australia and joined the Battalion from Feinfe ANZAC, he served in France and Egypt. [1]

He returned to Australia with "D.21" Premature Senility 24 August 1918 He was awarded the 1914/1915 Star, British War medal and the Victory medal.[2]

This person is listed on the Timor Primary School Honour Roll and the Bowenvale Honor Roll

Father: John Bowring, brothers Alfred and William Bowring. Married Sarah 5 August 1918. [3]
