The Corner Hotel was a hotel in Ballarat, Victoria, <1869-1871>.




The hotel was in Sturt Street.[1][2]


All the hotel fittings were offered for sale in June 1871:

THURSDAY, 8th JUNE, At Twelve o'clock, TO HOTELKEEPERS AND OTHERS. SALE BY AUCTION OF The whole of the Furniture, Stock-In-Trade, Bar-fittings, &c., OF THE CORNER HOTEL, STURT STREET. F. M. CLAXTON has been instructed to SELL by AUCTION, on the. premises, on Thursday next, the 8th June, at Twelve o’clock, the whole of the Furniture, Stock-in-Trade, Bar fittings, Ac., of the the Corner Hotel, consisting of, Superior four-pull beer-engine, bar counter and shelving, splendid cut glass chandelier, handsome mirror, bar screen, clock, pictures, decanters and glassware, chairs, tables, couch, chimney glasses, fenders and irons, bedsteads and bedding, washstands and ware, cutlery, E.P, ware, large cooking apparatus, kitchen and culinary utensils, wines, spirits, &c. No Reserve. Terms—Cash.[1]
  • In February 1869 the hotel was described as Aeschiman's Corner Hotel.[2]

Community Involvement

In February 1869 the hotel was the venue for people wanting information about investing in the Diamond Quartz Mining Company of Castlemaine.[2]
