The Criterion Hotel was a hotel in Ballarat, Victoria, <1868-1869>.

The Criterion Hotel was in Bridge Street.[1][2]

Community Involvement

The hotel was a venue for a firemen's dinner in April 1868:

To-morrow evening, at Mr John Bracher's Criterion hotel, Bridge street, the members of the Ballarat Fire Brigade intend to entertain at dinner their brother fireman, Mr W. J. Vance, who is about to leave for Europe on a year's leave of absence.[1]

Stage coaches travelling to Durham Lead in 1869 left from and returned to the hotel.[2]
