History

Daniel Cahir was born at Lal Lal, Victoria. He enlisted At Blackboy Hill on 14 March 2016 aged 43, and became a member of the 6th Tunnelling Company. Daniel Cahir's occupation was a miner, and he gave his brother, Michael Cahir of Lal La as his next of Kin. On 14 March 1917 Sapper Cahir (5107) was attached to the 1st Tunnelling Company. He was a victim of Mustard Gas in France on 14 February 1918, hospitalised on Boulogne, then England. On 08 August 1918 he returned to Australia with Gas Debility and was discharded on 19 October 1919.[1]
