David Roper

History

David Henry Roper (no 5190), was 19 years old and a bootmaker, when he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Forces 57 Battalion, on the 3rd January 1916. He embarked at Melbourne per H.M.A.T. 1st January 1916. Fought in France, returned to Australia via England 25th May 1919, reached Australia 28th June 1919 and discharged 14th August 1919.

He was awarded the following medals: The Star, The British War Medal and the Victory Medal. David Roper Passed away on the 26th May 1981
