Edward Blake
History
Parents: Patrick Blake and Annie Blake. Private Edward Blake, service number 4137, was labourer before enlisting, he was 25 years and 11 months when he enlisted on 19 July 1915 and appointed to the 14th Battalion. He embarked at Melbourne per H.M.A.T. "Demosthenes" on the 28 December, 1915 [1]
Private Edward Blake was Killed in action at the battle of Bullecourt, France on the 11/4/17, he had previously been reported missing, he was the dearly loved seventh son of Mr and Mrs P. Blake, of Bowenvale, [2]
Private Edward Blake, he was buried or commemorated at Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France. [3]
