Edward Ellis Campbell
Edward Ellis Campbell was a printer and book binder operating from premises on Macarthur Street and Lydiard Street, Ballarat in 1887.[1]
History
Edward Ellis Campbell was an early Ballarat settler and was one of the earliest printers in Ballarat, and was head printer of the Ballarat Star when he was in his thirties.
Campbell married Caroline Watkins in 1859 in Victoria.[2] They had several children:

- Mary Emily Campbell (1872)[13]
- Fanny Grace Campbell (1874 - 1875)[14][15]
- Charles Ellis Campbell (1877)[16]
- Thomas Pressley Hugh Campbell (1879)[17]
Campbell died in 1916 aged 83.
Early Life
Early career
Edward was an early Ballarat settler who successfully established himself in business as a printer and bookbinder. His firm also offered a photo engraving service. Trading under the name E. E. Campbell from premises located at 14 Sturt Street, Ballarat, it supplied photographic and printing materials to the Ballarat School of Mines (where his son Charles E. Campbell taught) and its students for many years.
