Edward H. F. Davis
Edward Henry Frederick Davis served in the RAAF in World War One.
History
Davis was born in Ballarat in 1896, the son of Alfred Ernest Davis and Rachael Matilda Henderson.[1]. His father was a caretaker and the family lived in the North Lodge at the Ballarat Botanical Gardens.[2]
Davis enlisted in the Australian Flying Corps on 3 April 1918.[3]
His younger brother, Francis Gordon Davis (1899-1919), was killed on active service in 1919.[4]
His older brother, Herbert A. Davis, worked for the Ballarat Tramways.[5]
Davis died in Ballarat in 1958, at the age of 62.[6]
Legacy
Honoured on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour for his World War One service, and the Ballarat Yacht Club Honor Roll.
