History
J. Edward Lee attended Ballarat Agricultural High School. During World War One he was severely wounded at Gallipoli, resuming duty on the Western Front in 1916. He returned to Australia in March 1919.[1]
Brigadier Lee retired from the Australian Army in 1947. He died at Randwick on 11 August 1962.[2]
Legacy
K. Edward Lee won the Military Medal.[3]
The World War One service of Edward Lee is recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour and the Austral Works Honour Roll. He died while on active service.
He was responsible for two publications, The Chronicle of 45th Battalion AIF and History of the Royal Military College, Duntroon 1910-1946.[4]
