History
Edward Theophulis Fisher (2213) was born at Cardigan near Ballarat. He served during World War One with the 16th Battalion. At the time of his enlistment he was a mine owner. At the time of his enlistment his father was dead and his next of kin was his mother, Annie Fisher, of 5 Raglan Street, Ballarat. After the death of Annie on 16 November 1921 his next of kin was designated as his eldest brother, Walter John Fisher of "Como" Stonyford, Victoria.[1]
Edward Fisher was killed at Lone Pine, Gallipoli on 08 August 1915, and is buried in the Lone Pine Cemetery.[2]
Legacy
Edward Fisher's World War One service recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.[3]

- Pt Edward T. Fisher (Killed in action) was the second son of Theophilus Fisher, of Smythes road, Ballarat. He received his education at the Smythes Road State School and the Grenville College. He assisted his father, who was a well known dairy farmer, for some years, and then went to West Australia. He spent several years on the Coolgardie, East Murchison and Lawler fields, finally settling down at Ravensthorpe, Phillips River district 14 years ago, where by his kindly and unselfish disposition he won the affection and esteem of all with whom he came in contact. He was captain of the Phillips River Rifle Club, in connection with which he had won several trophies for rifle shooting, and in December of last he had been installed W.M. of the Masonic Lodge there.[4]
