The Farmers' Hotel was a hotel in Ballarat, Victoria, <1861-1915.

Background

On 22 March 1915, the hotel was included on a list of hotels to be deprived of their licenses. This list was complied by the Licenses Reduction Board in Melbourne. The Ballarat West licensing district hearings on this list were to be held on 27 April.[1] The hotel was delicensed in November 1915, and the court paid £770 compensation.[2]


History

In 1888 it was known as Farmers' Arms[3]

Site

The Farmers' Hotel was in Doveton Street.[4] The 1861 map shows the hotel on the west side of Doveton Street, and few buildings north of Mair Street.[5] In 1862 the address was described as Market Square.[6]
