History
Francis Thomas Edwards was born in Ballarat East. and enlisted as a 2nd Air Mechanic of the Australian Flying Corps, May 1918 Reinforcement during World War One on the 16 May 1918. He returned to Australia on 1 August 1919.[1]
Legacy
FranK Edwards' name is listed in the Ballarat School of Mines Honor Roll where he was incorrectly listed as killed in action[2] and the Austral Works Honour Roll.

- Yet another School of Mines boy has joined the Flying Corps/ Mr Frank Edwards, who gained a junior technical scholarship, and just completed a three years' course at the School of Mines. HE was told there were no more vacancies, but he persisted in his application, and succeeded in gaining admission to the corps.[3]
