Frank O'Callaghan's father was Thomas H. O'Callaghan of the Market Hotel, Ballarat.
Francis Joseph O'Callaghan was born in Warracknabeal. His father was Thomas H. O'Callaghan. Frank Callaghan (3404) enlisted for service during World War One in Ballarat on 09 July 1915. At the time off his enlistment he was a Moulder with Ronaldson Bros and Tippett.
He was a member of the 11th Field Gun Company and won the military medal in July 1917.[1]
He was killed in action on 29 September 1917 and is buried At the Poperinghe New Military Cemetery.
Legacy
World War One service recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.
