Frank P. Dingle
History
Francis Perrin Dingle was born at Gong Gong in 1894, and attended Brown Hill State School. After qualifying as an electroplater, Frank went into partnership with his older brother, John. As the firm of Dingle Brothers Electroplating works.Frank Dingle (4518) enlisted for service during World War One. On 16 October 1917 Frank Dingle was severely affected by gas, and a gunshot wound to his left knee when he was admitted to the 3rd Canadian Casualty Clearing Station where his records noted ‘lethal shell gas poisoning’. After 5 days he died on 21 October 1917. He was buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery.[1]
Legacy
Frank Dingle's is honoured on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour for his World War One service.
