History

Gordon George Hauser was born in Ballarat and educated at Ballarat High School before becoming an accountant. As a 20 year old, Gordon Bishop (SN 6227) enlisted in Ballarat on June 19th 1916, giving his occupation as accountant. He was killed in action at Carlisle Farm near Passchendaele on 2- September 1917.[1]

Legacy

The World War One service of Gordon Bishop is recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.
