History
Harold Thomas Ewart was born in 1893 at Gracedale near Launching Place in the Yarra Valley in 1893. Harold Ewart was the second son of Walter John Ewart and his first-cousin, Annie Mabel Ewart. Moving to Ballarat Harold became Harold a conductor for the Ballaarat Tramway Company. He is buried in the Ballaarat New Cemetery. Inscribed on Harold's headstone is the Hebrew word Mizpah: May the Lord watch between me and thee whilst we are absent one from the other.[1]
Legacy
The World War One service of Harold Ewart was recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour, and the Victoria Street Baptist Church honour Board.
