Henry Carey

History

(George) Henry Carey was a farm manager before enlisting in the Australian Imperial Forces at Boort, aged 27 (46 unit, no 2045), on 4th April 1916.

He left for France on the 20th May 1917, he was wounded in action on 12th December 1917, he had been on the front line for two months, he embarked on the H.S.Panama" for England 23rd February 1917 and return to Australia 23rd July 1918.

He was awarded the Victory Medal, 1914/15 Star and the British War Medal. [1]

This person is listed on the Timor Primary School Honour Roll , he is also listed on the Bowenvale Honor Roll
