Henry F. R. Linsdell
History
Born at Bungaree, Henry Frederick Roy Linsdell (2681) served with the 2nd Machine Gun Battalion during World War One. He enlisted for service at Ballarat on 24 July 1915, and gave his father, Charles Linsdell, as next of kin. [1]
On 19 May 1917 he received a gunshot wound to the head in the field, rejoining his unit on 18 June 1918. He was wounded in action for the second time at Camiers on 07 August 1918, reciving a gunshot wound to the lower jaw. The hospital described is a "SW lower lip - large dirty wound very ragged - 3 teeth knowcked out - floor of mouth lacerated - swelling in jaw - large [fb? came out his arm. x.ray.[2]
Legacy
World War One service recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.
