Henry Troon was a fitter working for the Austral Engineering Works before World War One.[1]

History

Henry Troon lived on the corner of Howitt Street and Forest Street in Wendouree. He joined up during World War One, and served with the 4th Field Ambulance. He landed at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915 and was shot in the abdomen on 04 May 1915. He died of wounds two days later and was buried at sea. [2]

Legacy

Henry Troon is commemorated on the Australian Memorial at Lone Pine. [3]

Tree number 258 was planted in the Ballarat Avenue of Honour for Henry Troon. it is located opposite the Ranger Barracks.
