In Jube 1864 the hotel was being offered for lease.[1]

Site

The Hit or Miss Hotel was in Neil Street, at Soldiers Hill[2], near the Railway Terminus.[1]

George Gude, Hit or Miss Hotel, Neil street Soldiers' Hill. Inspector Kabat said he had no objection to the man, but the house was unfurnished Granted, conditionally on the house being furnished to the satisfaction of the police.[2]
