History
John Edward Andrew Phillipson (3868)was born in Ballarat. He joined up for service during World War One on 01 July 1915 at which time he was a 26 year old engineer with Ronaldson Brothers and Tippett. He he his mother Ann Phillipson of Caulfield as his next of kin. He served in the 46th Battalion in France, and was transferred to the postal corps on 05 August 1918. Phillipson returned home on the 'Armagh' in 1919.[1]
In 1959 John Phillipson was living at 10 Windermere Street South, Ballarat. At that time he was known as Ted Phillipson.
Legacy
World War One service recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.
