Background

History

Thomas Jelbart and his sons set up an engineering workshop in a corner of the Eagle Foundry in 1909.[1]


Jelbart participated in Factory Day, 1917, an initiative of the Forward Ballarat Movement.


In 1938 Jelbart Bros. were situated at 413-417 Mair Street. The were manufacturers of road rollers, tractors, oil engines, suction gas engines, pumping machinery. They also undertook general engineering and jobbing.[2]

Site
